Chatting all things sewing and what it's like running Thread Peg
I was recently invited onto the Sewing social podcast by the lovely Gemma Daly to chat about my sewing journey and how Thread Pegs came to be.
I've never had the pleasure of being interviewed for a podcast so it was an exciting thing to be asked to do.
The Birth of Thread Pegs
Thread Pegs wasn't part of some grand business plan - it evolved quite organically, really. you can read more about it here.
I've always been running the business alongside other jobs, which has been hard to give it my full attention, but now I have more time to give it I am loving putting more energy into the business side of things and the sewing community has been incredibly supportive from day one. That's what kept me going through the steep learning curve of running a small business.
Chatting with Gemma
Sitting down with Gemma for Social Sewing was a great way to focus on how I run my business and who it is for and in what direction I'd like it to go.
Alongside the business chat, we talked about all my favourite fabric shops and recent patterns I've been sewing. How I learnt to use all the workshop machinery in my workshop to make my pegboards. Gemma was so lovely to chat to. It was a pleasure to chat with her.
Listen to the Episode
If you fancy hearing the full story you can listen to the episode here.
I'd love to know what you think! And if you have any questions I didn't cover in the chat with Gemma, drop me a message - I'm always happy to talk sewing and small business.
Thank you to Gemma for having me on The Sewing Social, and thank you to all of you who continue to support Thread Pegs. None of this would be possible without this wonderful community.
Happy sewing!
